Qualifications

  • Over 40 years of clinical and consulting experience with couples, families and individuals in a wide variety of clinical settings including private practice, family counseling centers, in specialized medical clinics serving families of individuals with special needs, and in psychiatric settings and training institutes.
     
  • Extensive training in individual and couple therapy:
    Training in Internal Family Systems, Emotional Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, IMAGO Relationship Therapy, the EMDR method for treating trauma, as well as training from the Institute on Juvenile Research (Chicago), and the Child Guidance Clinic of Philadelphia on Structural Family Therapy from Salvador Minuchin.

  •  30 plus years teaching and training other professionals:
    As faculty of the Institute for Juvenile Research Family Systems Program, as a Family Therapy consultant to Psychiatric residency of the Illinois State Psychiatric Institute, and consultant to a large number of medical practices and advocacy groups serving the families of individuals with special needs.

  • Finally and most importantly, a profound interest and enjoyment in helping individuals, couples and families finding their own solutions
